McAuley Catholic High School

           
Our interscholastic athletics program is an integral part of the Joplin Area Catholic Schools educational experience, providing many opportunities for students to explore athletic interests and talents. We encourage students to participate in multiple sports, find the extracurricular activities that best meet their learning and developmental needs, and enjoy the rewarding experience of belonging to a team.

We see our students first as scholars, then as athletes, nevertheless recognizing that some of the greatest lessons in life are learned on the field of play, in defeat as well as in victory. As they oversee the transformation of our young boys and young girls into young men and young women, our outstanding coaching staff is committed to fostering enduring character traits such as discipline, accountability, and a strong sense of confidence.

“Building Champions for Life” is more important than winning championships; for our program, success is measured by how well we have challenged our scholar-athletes to strive for excellence, to face and overcome adversity, and to play for the teammate next to them. It’s about the team.

As our graduates move on to greater experiences in college and beyond, we hope they can look back and say they had a blast during their high school athletic experiences.
